Around the time that I made the crochet apple, my friend G introduced me to a children’s book she loved, Little Pea. Amy Krouse Rosenthal has a lovely set of books flipping conventional ideas; Little Pea has to eat all his sweets in order to get the vegetables that he loves! (Rosenthal also wrote the gem, Encyclopedia of an Ordinary Life.)
I decide to adapt the apple pattern (free but requires registration) to make G a set of peas. The darker, larger peas are Mama and Papa Pea, and obviously, the lighter, smaller one is Little Pea himself. G and I used to work together, and tossing these peas around became a great stress reliever around the office.
